Shamrock Shuffle Half Marathon

A group of us, aka The Bun Bunch, ran a race this morning. It was Calli and Jill’s first half marathon, and they both did amazing! Definitely made it more fun too!

The scenery was beautiful and the weather was pretty much perfect. (Minus the wind, I say!)

Good job shuffling team!!

{pre-race}

 {how they managed to still look good; I don’t know!}

{post race}

  {run 13.1 miles to get a free water bottle or get one at the store? Hmmm}
{we stayed together for most of the race, but then she vanished}

Have a nice weekend!

Thursday’s Thoughts

* Do you ever look at your kid after he/she is done eating and think, where do I begin to clean up?  Well, that was my thought bubble the other day.  Greyson loves Dickey’s BBQ Pit’s mac & cheese.  The thing is, even with a bib on, he gets noodles and cheese everywhere.  Do I clean the floor first? The highchair? Do I clean his hands or hair first?  Or….. do I just fill the tub and stick him and the highchair in it?

* My chiropractor sent me home with a backpack of homework.  I have to sleep with different sized tubes/rolls under my back.  Wedges near my hips.  I have to walk around the house with head weights on. (Real hot… and don’t be offended if I don’t answer the door for you) A chair cushion for stretching.  A chin lift/neck exercise that hooks to my bedroom door.  3 books to read.  Phew! After so many years of not having homework, it feels odd to have some. He did something new this week with me.  He had me lay on my back and his assistant came over to sit on my legs/feet area.  Then he proceeded to wrap a large towel around my neck and before I knew it he yanked, and every bone in my back popped all the way down to my tail bone.  Very odd sensation, and I was terrified to stand up.  With all that said, I do feel better (and 3 inches taller)!!

* On the side of our house there are some raised garden beds.  The other day I stirred and raked the soil.  Now I just have to wait for some warmer weather.  I’m debating what to plant in the boxes.  I have decided that I am for sure planting cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, carrots, melons, basil, mint and strawberries.  I came across a Pin the other night about what vegetable NOT to plant next to each other.  Click here to be directed to the site.  It’s very helpful (especially for beginners!)

* The other day Bink was not feeling good.  To sum up how my day went, I had to stay home so I could let him out every 5 minutes only to watch him squat & walk across the lawn.  Then he decided to throw up in the house.  Not on the carpet though…. smart dog.  He slept 23 hours straight the next day, so I think he is on the mend.  Poor thing!

* Previously, I had committed, but now it is official.  I am registered as a runner for the Cascade Lakes Relay Race. Go team Nerd Uprising!! I’m not sure if I’ll be sporting the goofy sunglasses and knee high socks though 🙂 The Cascade Lakes Relay Race is a 216.6 mile overnight relay in the style of Mt.Hood to the Oregon Coast.  I’m looking forward to this new adventure!

Thanks for stopping by and see you back here tomorrow!
