Thursday’s Thoughts

Who ever said slumber parties are just for kids?!  The other night, my grandpa and grandma had a sleepover at our house.  SO much fun!  They always make sure to bring the essentials.  Dice and cards.  I think Cody and I are all caught up with our games for the year.  Grey loves his big Pa and Great Grandma so much.  Nothing makes me happier than hearing Grey laugh…. and he did a lot of laughing!

In the last few days I have felt like Greyson is more a toddler than a baby.  He entertains people now and is seeking attention.  He shakes his head NO and nods YES.  He talks a lot.  Waves to everyone.  His human nature says “hi” every now and then.  He interacts with Bink a whole lot more. We bought 1 last container of formula.  The bottle station on our kitchen counter is getting smaller.  His big-boy, front facing car seat is set up in dad’s car.  He is more interested in what is inside of cabinets and drawers rather than his own toys.  I’ve noticed too that he is more coordinated than ever before.  Toddler times.

The sunshine and 50 degree weather is making me antsy.  While Grey is napping, I just want to be outside working on a project.  There is so much to do.  When we start a project, I like it to be done now.  We made the mistake at our last house of fixing it up and making updates only to turn around and list the house.  This time, we are making improvements right away so we can actually enjoy the fruits of our labor.  Maybe, just maybe we can fence the rest of the yard this weekend.

When we were vacationing in Mexico, I had my phone off the entire week.  To not use or be around technology was a breath of fresh air.  As soon as we reached the states, I was overwhelmed with the dinging of my phone.  Cody and I both have never been technology geeks.  I think we were the last ones on the planet to upgrade our flip phones to an iPhone (which we regret.)  We have a MacBook Pro that is cracked and in poor health.  He’s been with us for 5 years…. I guess it’s expected.  Months ago, I made a rule for myself.  The rule is, the only time I can use my phone or computer is when Greyson is sleeping.  I want to be able to spend quality time with the little guy, and I don’t want him to grow up witnessing how time-consuming technology is…. at least in our home.

These two cousins are already techno-geeks!

We’re one day closer to the weekend!  Hope everyone has a wonderful day, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for ‘Friday Favorites.’

Love, Rach
